About the position

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking to hire an experienced Construction Administrator I to support various construction projects at UT Austin and other UT Austin campuses in support of the project manager and consistent with Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) policies and procedures. You'll be working for a university that is internationally recognized for our academic programs and research. Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent, timely and reliable communication between all project stakeholders, including clients, professional service providers, university personnel and contractors.
  • Monitor projects' scope, budget and schedule. Communicate progress with project team.
  • Attend pre-construction meeting and regular onsite construction meetings.
  • Monitor Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Best Management Practices and conduct weekly inspections.
  • Assist in design and constructability reviews.
  • Monitor project close-out procedures and deliverables.
  • Drive to project work sites and prepare project reports.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Up to five years of experience in construction planning, scheduling, and or supervising institutional facility construction, renovation, or maintenance projects.
  • Strong communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Current Class 'C' Operator's Driver License required.
  • Must hold OSHA 30 certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Five or more years of experience in a university physical plant or higher education environment.
  • College certificate or Bachelor's degree in a construction related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and blueprint interpretation.
  • Supervisory experience in commercial construction and renovation.
  • Experience managing construction projects in an occupied setting.
