About The Position

Construction Accountant Specific responsibilities are as follows: Perform month-end construction accounting responsibilities for assigned portfolio of projects actively under construction. Prepare and submit draw packages to lenders and finance agencies to secure all financing for assigned portfolio. Ensure the timely payment of all contractors and vendors within assigned portfolio. Prepare and report out on project forecasts for assigned portfolio. Prepare and submit 10% carryover allocations and cost certifications in accordance with state finance agency requirements. Prepare GAAP cost certification conversions for assigned portfolio. Assist Construction Manager on equity installment funding tracking Performs other duties as assigned, including ad hoc and construction period reporting. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. Manages relationships, both internally and externally exercising appropriate communication and interpersonal skills. Completes assigned training. Strong critical thinking skills, strong communication skills, and the acumen to move projects forward are a requirement for success. Excel skills and working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and World Wide Web. Real estate/development knowledge preferred. Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively. Applicant must possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. The preferred candidate will have experience in the Real Estate Development industry with specialized experience in affordable housing and LIHTCs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study required
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Must have good communication, comprehension, computer and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
