Everytown Law seeks a creative, thoughtful, and public-spirited attorney for a full-time, 2-year Fellowship with a fall 2026 start date and a fall 2028 end date. Everytown Law is part of Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, the education, research, and litigation arm of the nation’s leading gun violence prevention organization. We are the largest and most experienced team of impact litigators in the country dedicated to advocating in the courts for gun violence prevention—one of the most pressing issues of our time. We believe every person has the right to live free from gun violence, and it’s our mission to make this belief a reality. Everytown Law’s clients include students, parents, civil rights organizations, elected officials, domestic violence coalitions, and state and local governments. You can learn about our team and its work at https://everytownlaw.org/. In the wake of the Supreme Court’s major Second Amendment decisions in NYSRPA v. Bruen and United States v. Rahimi, the need to elevate and strengthen gun safety in the courts has never been more urgent. The Fellowship presents an extraordinary opportunity to participate in the development of constitutional doctrine at this pivotal moment. The Fellow will join Everytown Law’s Second Amendment practice, which focuses on defending life-saving laws against Second Amendment and related constitutional challenges through both direct representation and amicus briefing. We recognize that gun violence has an outsized impact on historically marginalized groups and communities and believe that stronger gun laws are part of a multi-faceted approach to reducing gun violence. We fight to protect common-sense gun safety laws from gun lobby-backed challenges, like the life-saving laws prohibiting domestic abusers from having access to firearms, regulating dangerous weapons and weapon features, imposing age restrictions and background checks, and prohibiting guns in sensitive places like parks and schools. We also produce independent and rigorous legal scholarship on the Second Amendment and other gun violence prevention issues. In addition, our Second Amendment attorneys work closely with Everytown Law’s affirmative litigation practice and with teams across the organization working to advance common-sense gun legislation.
