About The Position

The Constant Observer position at Adventist Health involves providing direct behavioral support to patients at risk of self-harm or harm to others due to mental illness. Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Experience in direct patient supervision: Preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitors patients on involuntary holds initiated by law enforcement or court order and patients deemed a suicide risk.
• Monitors patients who need fall protection, are in a state of confusion and/or agitation, and are at risk of self-harm.
• Monitors patients who are deemed at risk of hurting themselves by interference with therapeutic equipment.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living within their scope of practice.
• Monitors any changes in behavior and reports to the RN or provider.
• Follows safety protocols and infection control policies.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
