The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is seeking Conservation/Historic Preservation Workers (CW’s) for temporary seasonal positions, not exceeding six months, at various locations throughout Illinois, including Beall Woods State Park. Under immediate supervision, CW’s will perform routine maintenance and janitorial duties for site buildings and public use areas, including groundskeeping, cleaning shelters, shower houses, and privies, and trash disposal. They will also operate and maintain equipment and vehicles, assist in habitat management and hunting programs, and some may perform site interpretation. The IDNR is dedicated to preserving, protecting, and promoting Illinois' natural and cultural resources, overseeing water, wildlife, wetlands, oil wells, parks, and historic sites. The Office of Land Management (OLM) manages nearly 400 land parcels, advocating for outdoor recreation through sustainable use, conservation, and preservation, and its Historic Sites Division oversees 57 Historic Sites, Monuments, and Memorials. OLM supports activities ranging from interpretive programming to hiking, hunting, fishing, boating, and camping.
