About The Position

The Conservation Enforcement Officer, Trainee is a permanent, full-time position with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Positions are located throughout the state. This is the entry-level conservation enforcement classification; employees are trainees who complete required courses of training approved by the Alabama Peace Officers' and Standards Training Commission (APOSTC) as well as specialized job assignment training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to obtain certification as a Conservation Enforcement Officer
  • Valid driver's license
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Complete required courses of training approved by APOSTC
  • Participate in specialized job assignment training
  • Perform conservation enforcement duties as assigned
  • Enforce state and federal laws related to natural resources
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance as needed
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and conservation organizations
