One of our clients in Fort Meade, MD needs a Connectivity Engineer (Skill Level 3) for a contract position.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in network engineering or similar roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or 4 additional years of network engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
  • IAT level III certification (or IAT II with plans to obtain IAT III).
  • CCNP certification or higher.
  • ITIL v3 Foundations.
  • 12 years’ experience in Networking (WAN/CAN/DCN/NETSEC).
  • 7 years’ experience in operations and maintenance of DoD secure WANs.
  • 3 years’ experience in operating and maintaining service provider MPLS WANs.
  • 1 year experience in maintaining agency external boundaries (peering points).
  • Experience in network test, evaluation, and monitoring.
  • TS/SCI with FSP (Maryland Clearance)

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and sustain WAN, CAN, DCN, and network security systems.
  • Troubleshoot network issues, optimize configurations, and analyze network characteristics (e.g., traffic time, speeds, packet sizes).
  • Implement solutions for server requirements such as load balancing, VPNs, firewalls, and NAT.
  • Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput.
  • Conduct site surveys, installations, and configuration management for a global Enterprise Network.
  • Perform pre and post-deployment tests, security evaluations, and ensure adherence to government standards.
  • Lead and manage large-scale efforts with dynamic requirements.
  • Work with system engineers and cross-functional teams to refine network requirements.
  • Optimize system performance and dataflow management across various front-end and back-end components.
  • Design, integrate, configure, deploy, test, and maintain network devices (VPN, VRF, VSS, BGP, OSPF routing, VLAN).
  • Facilitate fault-tolerant, scalable network topologies for WAN and LAN design.
