About The Position

The purpose of the Connections Director is to become the epicenter of all things helping ordinary people become passionate followers of Jesus Christ. This role will serve as the point of leadership for hospitality and events to connect all visitors and fringe attenders more closely to the activity of the church; connect all regulars to their next step (ABCs, DT, MC, Baptism etc.); and all disciples to disciple making opportunities.

  • Must have recruiter skill to grow hospitality team as well as enroll people into Activate (GH 101), Breakthrough, and MCs
  • Passion for seeing ordinary people progress from Sunday or MC attenders to passionate disciplemakers
  • Pursuit for people that would typically slip through the cracks ensuring all are seen, known and loved that engage in our gatherings
  • Stewardship of annual budgets to have 4-6 excellent gatherings to bring in VIPs and connect them to church in unconventional spaces
  • Excitement for Sundays, opening worship often with soundness of theology and ability to increase faith in the room independent of crowd feedback
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds and move furniture

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer 1-2 years of experience planning and hosting events for 50+ people
  • Experience working with vendors and negotiating when appropriate
  • Public speaking experience to open service, handle announcements or communion
  • No educational requirements beyond communication and writing in a grammatically correct and compelling nature.

Responsibilities

  • Increasing Social Media presence as a means of marketing and opening the front door of the church. Collecting photos on Sundays and ensuring 2-3 weekly posts.
  • Building Hospitality team (someone or 2 outside, 2 at the table and others in lobby floating is the dream to build towards)
  • Regular communication slots (2x monthly) on Sundays to give updates on ways to engage in our church and opportunities for connecting to the church and others
  • Owning the energy and excitement quotient of Sunday Mornings by creating a hospitality team and ensuring they are trained and consistently welcoming to guests and regular attendees alike.
  • Reproducing excitement and modeled invitation culture to others by always being front and center of hospitality and making sure no one makes it through the doors without being welcomed.
  • Assisting in Activate classes and recruiting people to get involved with VIP cards, VIP training
  • Staying aware of which ministry areas are looking for volunteers at the time/where the highest needs are so we can promote those well in activate and announcements.
  • ”Raising the E ceiling of our church” - being a person intentionally and regularly reiterating and voicing the call to go make disciples and share the Gospel, giving people another touch point than the sermons to feel the call.
  • Increase retention of first time guests returning and getting involved in Macro and Micro
  • Increase attendance in Activate, Breakthrough, MCs and Serve Teams
  • 4 High Evangelism Sundays with components in and after service geared towards the lost.
  • Fall kickoff of MCs aiming for 75% of Avg. Sunday attendance also plugged into a Micro Church.
