Ford's Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) Connected Vehicle Services Quality Team is looking for Data Analytics Engineers to manage connected vehicle data indicators supporting key vehicle launches and current vehicle quality issues. The engineer will manage and support triage of primarily Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) related issues during vehicle launches, develop Connected Vehicle data solutions for internal customers, and work with the engineering teams on use of data for problem solving.

  • Work with PD teams to extract, summarize, and analyze Connected Vehicle data to further understand and problem solve potential issues.
  • Work with program launch teams, plant resident engineers, and program software/hardware engineers to triage vehicle faults (DTCs) setting at the plant, dealership, or customer with the goal of implementing corrective actions avoiding warranty issues.
  • Enhance the use of Connected Vehicle data (e.g., battery SOC data, door ajar, warning lights, etc.) through the ideation and development of tools/methods for problem solving.
  • Use and develop processes, tools and methods to obtain insight from large files of Connected Vehicle data.
  • Apply project management disciplines by making sure that risks are identified, mitigated, or escalated.
  • Promote and use Agile Data Collection methods (RDR, PARSED and CARMon) in support engineering problem solving and data-driven decisions.
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with business partners across Ford North American organizations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Big Data Analytics manipulating data to form unified data sets for analysis.
  • 2+ years of experience in automotive ECUs design/Systems/integration/validation.
  • 1+ year of experience in vehicle's network communication (CAN, LIN & Ethernet communication).
  • 1+ year experience in query languages, SQL, HiveQL, Google BigQuery, or Spark.
  • 3+ years of experience in Big Data Analytics.
  • 2+ years of experience in query languages, SQL, HiveQL, Google BigQuery, or Spark.
  • Ability to understand how to ingest large data sets from a variety of sources (SQL, Python, Java, Hadoop, Alteryx, Qlik Sense, etc).
  • Knowledge of data management.
  • Experience with Automotive systems, features, and/or components.
  • Proficient with GitHub and JIRA.
  • Strong visualize skills in communicating data insights to make data analysis measurable and understandable by business partners.
  • Ability to take complex problems and break them down to build and implement an action plan.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, ability to engage with upper management, and peers.
  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of initiative.
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, sophisticated, global environment.
