About The Position

The Connected Integration Engineer provides pre and post sales technical support for power and energy meters, protective relays, power distribution monitoring and control software, and related communication products. The role serves as a technical resource for customers and Electrical Group personnel by resolving moderately to highly complex technical issues, supporting installation, configuration, and data acquisition needs, and delivering effective technical explanations, demonstrations, and training. Partnering with customers, field engineers, and internal engineering and marketing teams, this role will drive technical validation, product adoption, and incremental revenue growth across targeted markets. The Connected Integration Engineer will provide technical consultation and subject matter expertise, delivering on site customer and end user presentations to secure approval of Eaton solutions, and feeding technical insights back to internal teams to support product enhancement and expanded account penetration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software or Computer Engineering or related discipline OR Associate’s degree in EET, Electrical or Software Engineering or related discipline with minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong foundation in electrical power distribution and power quality
  • Working knowledge of operating systems, databases, industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet), and basic networking principles
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, effectively diagnosing and resolving issues across integrated hardware and software systems through structured testing and replication of customer reported issues
  • Excels in customer service and collaboration, communicates complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, and maintains accurate documentation while managing priorities effectively

  • Prior Technical Support, Customer Service and/or Call Center experience
  • Fluent in industrial Ethernet communications (e.g. Modbus TCP, BACnet/IP, SNMP, etc.)
  • Fluent in industrial fieldbus communications (e.g. Modbus RTU, BACnet/MSTP, Profibus, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve communication related technical issues in the field involving Eaton’s connected products (meters, gateways, and associated systems).
  • Diagnose root causes of communication failures, distinguishing Eaton product behavior from external factors such as installation practices, cabling, or third party system configuration.
  • Travel to customer sites, as needed, to support field troubleshooting, resolve complex issues, and build customer confidence in Eaton solutions.
  • Create and support Power Distribution Monitoring and Control (PDMC) graphics, including one line diagrams, front views, and associated communication elements.
  • Identify, document, and communicate PDMC software defects or limitations to internal engineering teams to support corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Track communication drawing schedules and milestones, identify process improvement opportunities, and contribute to reducing overall turnaround time.
  • Verify correct system operation by confirming accurate register and data population prior to handoff to third party BMS/BIS.
  • Provide technical guidance to third party software vendors and programmers to support timely issue resolution and successful system integration.
  • Deliver technical training to OEM customers and other stakeholders on Eaton products, PDMC graphics creation, and communication best practices.
  • Serve as a Tier 3 technical expert for Eaton meters, gateways, and connected products, applying best practices and learned customer use cases to enhance customer value.
  • Coordinate communication drawings by collecting required inputs, transferring work to global resources (e.g., Pune), reviewing for accuracy, revising as needed, and delivering for sales, bidding, installation, and as built documentation.
  • Capture and share Voice of the Customer insights to support product improvement and inform internal stakeholders.
