Cleary Gottlieb is a pioneer in globalizing the legal profession. We have 14 offices in major financial centers around the world, but we operate as a single, integrated global partnership and not a U.S. firm with a network of overseas locations. The firm employs approximately 1,100 lawyers from more than 50 countries. Since 1946 our lawyers and staff have worked across practices, industries, jurisdictions and continents to provide clients with simple, actionable approaches to their most complex legal and business challenges, whether domestic or international. We support every client relationship with intellectual agility, commercial acumen and a human touch. The Conflicts & CDD Analyst supports the Firm's global Risk team in advising senior management, partners, and legal and office staff on legal and regulatory matters, with a dual focus on Conflicts of Interest and Anti-Money Laundering (AML). This junior-level position plays a critical role in the client and matter onboarding process, ensuring compliance with Firm procedures and regulatory obligations. Key responsibilities include conflicts analysis, first-level review of conflict check requests, support for lateral hire onboarding, audit and trade requests, and conducting client due diligence (CDD), sanctions screening, and comprehensive risk assessments. The role also contributes to policy development, maintenance of compliance systems, and ongoing risk initiatives. The successful candidate must be able to respond effectively to time-sensitive issues with clear, precise communication while managing day-to-day conflicts and AML responsibilities.
