About The Position

The Rescue Technician works as a member of the technical rescue standby team. Rescue Technicians are responsible for performing set-up, rigging, atmospheric monitoring of vessels or spaces. They are responsible for entering confined spaces to gain access to other technical rescue situations to provide life safety and EMS services to victims.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have a State Driver's License at time of employment, current and in good standing
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card
• Current CPR card with AED
• EMT (Desired)
• Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
• Physical Agility Test
• Successful background and drug screening
• Experience in a professional fire department or rescue industry
• ICS-100 Confined Space Rescue Technician (40hrs)

• ICS 300 and 400 Rescue Instructor Certification
• 40hr HAZWOPER I-200, I-300, CA State Fire Marshal Trench Rescue
• CA State Fire Marshal Rescue Systems
• OSHA 30 - General Industry
• Scott SCBA Technician, MSA Atmospheric Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform set-up and rigging for rescue operations
• Conduct atmospheric monitoring of vessels or spaces
• Enter confined spaces to provide life safety and EMS services
• Assist with lifting of patients as needed
• Travel to various locations and sites for personnel visits
