About The Position

The Configuration Specialist I at Clopay Corporation is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of product data using Oracle applications and other software. This role involves implementing engineering change orders, creating and maintaining items and bills of materials, and participating in special assignments within the Oracle Configurator Group.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in an engineering-related business system environment is required.
• Demonstrate advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, look-ups, PivotTables, formatting, etc.).
• Ability to create and follow a personal daily work schedule with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interpret engineering documents and drawings written in English.
• Ability to solve practical and abstract problems and deal with a variety of variables where documentation is sometimes ambiguous or does not exist.
• Ability to translate engineering/computer terminology into understandable English for those outside the department and communicate professionally.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience working with sectional garage doors is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience with Oracle is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create new Oracle items to support new product introductions and engineering change orders.
• Understand the function of major Oracle item attributes and ensure that they are correctly assigned to achieve expected behavior in all related Oracle modules.
• Use Oracle import programs and Data Loader to implement mass changes to item attributes and bills of materials.
• Use existing SQL queries to systematically identify item attribute settings and to confirm changes and corrections.
• Actively participate in the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process and ensure that agreed-upon implementation dates are met.
• Ensure the accuracy of all standard item bills of materials.
• Plan updates appropriately to ensure that mass changes are made efficiently.
