About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining configuration control of systems, equipment, and documentation while coordinating logistics activities that support mission execution, sustainment, and operational readiness. The individual will work closely with government stakeholders, project management, technical teams, and vendors to ensure accurate configuration tracking, disciplined change management, and timely logistics support in accordance with contract requirements and government directions. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Configuration Manager & Sustainment Coordinator, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of U.S. Army Europe. You will play a crucial role in mission command support for U.S. and NATO forces in Poznan Poland. Maintain configuration control of program systems, equipment, and associated documentation using established configuration management plans and processes. Develop, maintain, and govern configuration management documentation and reference materials that provide operational visibility into systems, networks, and services. Maintain architecture and configuration records that reflect the current operational state, approved baselines, and approved changes across the environment. Create, update, and report on system configuration data to support operational oversight, leadership reporting, audits, inventories, and data calls. Maintain accurate configuration, inventory, and lifecycle data within automated configuration management databases and supporting tools. Establish and enforce structured processes for managing baseline configurations and tracking changes to organizational IT assets throughout the lifecycle. Support above baseline services and networks by ensuring configuration data is accurate, traceable, and aligned with approved architectures. Track operational requirements submitted by supported units, ensuring each requirement is documented, assigned, and actively progressed Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to validate requirements, confirm configuration impacts, and ensure approved solutions are properly documented. Facilitate and support the change governance process by ensuring configuration changes are complete, properly assigned, reviewed, and progressed through established workflows. Monitor the status of requirements and configuration changes, identify risks or delays, and drive resolution to maintain momentum and mission alignment. Provide regular status updates, metrics, and reporting on configuration, requirements, and change activity to leadership and the appropriate chain of command Participate in technical reviews, change forums, and coordination meeting to ensure shared understanding, alignment, and accurate communication of impacts and status. Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities by providing authoritative configuration, inventory and change documentation. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science, additional years of experience can be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years experience managing configuration control in a DoD or enterprise IT environment
  • Technical skills: Experience with configuration management tools and CMDB platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Proficiency with Excel-based tracking and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI or similar).
  • Working knowledge of systems, network, and service configurations, including baseline and version control concepts.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, change records, and network or system diagrams.
  • General understanding of DoD configuration management policies and operational IT environments.
  • Security clearance level: Active DoD Secret clearance with SSBI eligibility (at minimum)
  • US citizenship required
  • Role requirements: Must be DOD 8140 compliant at IAT Level II at time of hire (Sec+ Ce or approved IAT Level II)
  • Core Competencies; Strong attention to detail with disciplined documentation practices.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across all functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple configuration items, requirements and changes.
  • Ability to provide clear, accurate status updates to leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
