BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Configuration Manager to work closely with our customer on a mission critical program. This individual will be responsible for Configuration Management (CM) of developmental and operational systems. They will work on developmental and operational teams to create and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) for operational systems. The role involves using or recommending automated CM tools to implement policies and procedures, developing or modifying CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system. The Configuration Manager will implement CM disciplines for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirement/capabilities to system end-of-life, and perform change control and configuration audits. The location for this work is in Dulles, VA, with flexible hours.

  • Be responsible for Configuration Management (CM) of developmental and operational systems.
  • Work on developmental and operational teams to create and maintain configuration baselines.
  • Use or recommend automated CM tools to implement policies and procedures.
  • Develop or modify CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the system.
  • Implement CM disciplines for the entire life cycle of systems.
  • Perform change control and configuration audits.
  • Six (6) years of experience as a CM in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional CM experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • If assigned to a developmental program, one year of experience using a source code control system for a program of similar scope and complexity.
  • Understand basic concepts, assist in maintaining and developing the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing, and integration.
  • Assist in defining and implementing hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures.
  • Utilize CM tools to store, track, and manage configuration items.
  • Develop hard/software version control processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in creating product build scripts and procedures.
  • Experience in implementing scripts with the hardware and software build process.
  • Experience serving as an advisor to Change Control Board.
