About The Position

The Configuration Management Specialist will oversee and manage product configurations throughout their lifecycle, ensuring that all design, engineering, and manufacturing changes are thoroughly documented, reviewed, and approved. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance and integrity for the products being produced, particularly in the aerospace industry.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of configuration management systems, tools, and processes.
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Experience with configuration management software; familiarity with ERP and PLM systems is a plus.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve configuration challenges effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in configuration management, ideally within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  • Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII) is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage configuration control processes, including the development, modification, and approval of engineering documents and specifications.
  • Keep configuration management records accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with industry standards and customer needs.
  • Work closely with the Change Management team to ensure alignment and facilitate Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.
  • Review and authorize proposed changes to product configurations, ensuring smooth and efficient implementation.
  • Ensure all processes comply with relevant aerospace regulations, such as AS9100, and applicable government requirements.
  • Conduct internal reviews and audits of configuration management procedures and support external audits as needed.
  • Train staff on configuration management tools and procedures, serving as a resource for related questions.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on configuration changes, system statuses, and audit results.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and introduce best practices to improve efficiency.
  • Report any safety concerns or potential hazards immediately and comply with all company policies and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and take on other tasks as assigned.
