Requirements

  • Basic understanding of PDM/PLM systems such as Teamcenter, Windchill, or SAP
  • Ability to help develop process documentation and training materials related to Configuration Management
  • Awareness of SAE standards for vehicle design and Configuration Management (e.g., SAE EIA‑649‑1A)
  • Role requires a sense of urgency and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously with a good understanding of Microsoft Office Suites
  • Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate
  • Ability to follow instructions:  Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently
  • Methodical approach:  Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line
  • Concentration:  This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes. This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with military specifications and standards (e.g., MIL-STD-31000) is preferred not required
  • Exposure to military vehicle systems (HFE, Powertrain, Chassis, Armor, Body, Electrical) is beneficial
  • Ability to read Blueprints or schematics to identify vehicle and mechanical parts, have mechanical background, and parts manual reading skills
  • Security clearance preferred or ability to obtain one

Responsibilities

  • Assists with engineering efforts pertaining to Configuration Management
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with various stakeholders
  • Assists with organizing the delivery of Configuration Management contractual deliverables
  • Monitors progress to help ensure configured releases are delivered in a timely manner and meet expectations
  • Tracks progress to help ensure configured releases meet schedule expectations
  • Helps define and document release content and contribute to rollout planning in alignment with change management processes
  • Coordinates with stakeholders for releases, including communicating updates and managing expectations under guidance
  • Helps prepare materials for weekly Change Control Board (CCB) meetings and records meeting minutes
  • Assists in compiling Configuration Management metrics for quarterly Program Management Review (PMR) meetings
  • Supports alignment with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
  • Helps ensure program compliance with the Configuration Management Plan
