As the Configuration Manager for a portfolio of cutting-edge aerospace programs supporting the U.S. Department of Defense, I'm looking to bring a skilled and proactive Configuration Engineer onto our team. This role is integral to maintaining control, consistency, and traceability of software and systems throughout the development lifecycle. If you are detail-oriented, thrive in a structured environment, and have a passion for disciplined engineering processes-particularly in highly regulated environments-you'll be a great fit.

  • Manage and maintain configuration baselines for software and supporting documents across multiple DoD development programs.
  • Execute software and document configuration management activities in accordance with MIL-STD-973, EIA-649, and program-specific CM plans (PCMP).
  • Administer configuration control boards (CCBs), track software, hardware, and document change requests (CRs), and ensure timely implementation of approved changes.
  • Support software builds and releases, ensuring version integrity and traceability of all software deliverables.
  • Collaborate with engineering, program management, quality assurance, subcontractors and other program stakeholders to enforce configuration control policies and best practices.
  • Create and maintain configuration documentation, such as configuration status accounting reports, release notes, and CM audit checklists, CM plans and other CM procedures, work instructions or training documentation.
  • Perform audits to verify the configuration of released products matches requirements and documentation.
  • Utilize PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), ALM (Application Lifecycle Management), and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) business systems to effectively manage and control configuration information.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing use of PTC RV&S and PTC Windchill as our enterprise ALM and PLM tools.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR, Export Control regulations, and proper handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in all configuration activities.
  • Travel requirements: Occasionally be required to travel, both domestically in the United States and internationally (up to 10%).
  • Adhere to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
