About The Position

Abacus Technology is seeking a Configuration and Data Manager to support CDRLs, baselines, and assets/licenses for the Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate at Lackland AFB. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

  • 12+ years experience in configuration and data management including at least 5 years in a DoD environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
  • Experience managing configuration of software, engineering documents, design drawings, engineering changes and notices, and planning/conducting design audits to enable Government ownership of the program technical baseline.
  • Able to work closely with program management, systems engineers, quality managers, and design engineers in an integrated product team environment.
  • Experience with IT CM in the DoD environment.
  • Experience performing hardware and software configuration audits.
  • Experience performing the technical/administrative activities necessary to manage CM tools for inventory control, version control, data duplication, and media labeling.
  • Experience producing release notes and CM reports.
  • In-depth understanding of the configuration change control process, the role of the Change Control Board, and change control documentation.
  • Experience performing baseline administrative activities for multiple environments.
  • Experience developing briefings for management.
  • Must understand all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Able to enter and manipulate data in a database.
  • Must have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task.
  • Able to work independently and with a team.
  • Experience with MS Office.
  • Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI Access (TS/SCI).

Responsibilities

  • Provide configuration and CDRL data manager (CM/DM), quality assurance, program/project, requirements analysis, risk management, and software engineering support services in accordance with the program’s Configuration Management (CM) Plan, Air Force SEAM CM processes, program development/sustainment contracts, and PMO practices.
  • Provide CM of all relevant program artifacts.
  • Review and analyze the development/sustainment Contractor’s CM program and data deliveries for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Maintain CM files including configuration identification, change control, and status accounting records.
  • Convene and manage the Configuration Control Boards, Technical Review Boards, and record approved changes and results.
  • Participate in cross-functional change control boards to evaluate proposed changes.
  • Review and analyze proposed changes to ensure operational and sustainment capabilities are not adversely affected by the changes.
  • Support Engineering Assessments.
  • Prepare for, conduct, and/or support major audits such as Physical Configuration Audits and Functional Configuration Audits.
  • Report the Development/Sustainment’s data delivery status.
  • Support pre- and post-contract award data reviews.
  • Review and analyze the development/sustainment Contractor’s conformance to CDRL requirements.
  • Support the establishment of workflows.
  • Track data item deliverables and responses.
  • Develop and administer CM plans.
  • Maintain design traceability and integrity.
  • Assist the Government with configuration control for IT systems.
  • Manage configurations of software, engineering documents, design drawings, engineering changes and notices, and planning/conducting design audits.
  • Track Change Requests and Discrepancy Reports/Problem Reports.
  • Ensure integrity of the baseline including major releases, minor releases, patches, and software maintenance.
  • Provide Quality Assurance checks on system baselines.
  • Manage and control product baselines.
  • Recommend and document comprehensive CM plans for software, hardware, firmware, and peripherals for IT systems.
  • Audit and review IT system configurations.
  • Create and maintain revisions to the CDRL packages.
  • Convene, manage, and participate in Data Requirements Review Boards and record approved requirements.
  • Receive and distribute CDRL data deliverables.
  • Provide CM/DM input into all program documentation.
  • Adequately identify data requirements in the Statement of Work, Statement of Objectives, and/or PWS.
