About The Position

The Configuration Control Specialist supports the Configuration & Compliance Manager by executing day-to-day activities related to configuration management, change control, and compliance. This role ensures accurate documentation, maintains configuration baselines, and facilitates Change Control Board (CCB) meetings, including scheduling, pre-circulating information packages, recording notes, and implementing approved changes. The position is critical for maintaining compliance with ISO standards and external customer contractual requirements, ensuring audit readiness and operational integrity. Additionally, this role supports the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure compliance with milestones, decision points, and successful close-out of documentation changes when transitioning to production.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of configuration management principles and change control processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standard, external audit requirements, and NPI processes.
  • Strong organizational, high attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and manage follow-up actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with ability to leverage Kaizen and automation tools.
  • 2–4 years in configuration management or document control within a regulated environment or customer compliance requirements.
  • Experience with ERP systems and configuration tools.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without a sponsorship for employment visa status (e.e. H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to ISO 9001 standards preferred.
  • Familiarity with NPI processes and milestone tracking is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process Engineering Change Request (ECR), Request for Deviations (RFD), and Configuration Chage Request (CCR).
  • Support compliance to Quality Management System (QMS), regulatory and strategic objectives
  • Schedule CCB meetings and pre-circulate information packages to stakeholders.
  • Record meeting minutes, decisions, and action items; track implementation of approved changes.
  • Update ERP systems and configuration repositories following approved changes.
  • Maintain configuration item records and version control; support configuration freezes and baseline updates.
  • Archive reference versions and manage release notes.
  • Maintain current Production Process Package (PPP)
  • Assist the Manager in preparing documentation and evidence for ISO audits; support during audits and manage post-audit corrective actions and close-out activities.
  • Document and maintain records for external customer contractual audits; ensure documentation aligns with ISO standards and customer requirements.
  • Support compliance with New Product Introduction milestones and decision points; ensure documentation changes are completed and approved before production launch.
  • Track and close out actions from each decision point to maintain program integrity.
  • Collaborate with Team Wendy Ceradyne Quality & Compliance team and all other SBU departments to ensure adherence to process.
  • Partner with Product Quality Assurance, Engineering, and IT teams to maintain configuration integrity.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting quarterly management metrics aligned to ISO policy; track agreed annual KPIs and provide data for leadership reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to apply Continuous Improvement and Kaizen tools to streamline processes; explore and implement COTS software solutions to automate workflows and reduce paperwork burden.
