About The Position

Tyto Athene is looking for a Remote Configuration and Data Manager to join our El Segundo, CA team responsible for supporting support the US Space Force’s Space Systems Command, Operational Command and Control Acquisition Delta, known as Kobayashi Maru. Kobayashi Maru is responsible for continuously delivering impactful software for space operations. The program office’s mission includes the development and deployment of software for space defense, space domain awareness, and enabling data services. Tyto Athene’s Configuration Management team is responsible for implementing processes, procedures, data flows, and artifacts for assessment and authorization activities necessary to meet Department of Defense operational acceptance requirements. The CM team works with our Cybersecurity partners and in two core functions, software assessment and Risk Management Framework/environment assessment. Embracing the tenants of DevSecOps, this Configuration Management team is customer-oriented and fully integrated throughout the software development and deployment lifecycle. This team’s top priority is to enable rapid, secure delivery of software applications to the warfighter. With automation and an ‘everything as code’ mentality, you will help execute the Kobayashi Maru configuration management framework for 14 software product teams and thousands of users across the test, IL4 development, IL6 staging/production, and higher classification level staging/production environments.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of professional experience as a Configuration and Data Manager supporting Department of Defense
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, STEM, or IT from an accredited institution
  • Active CompTIA IAT II certification. One or more of the following: GSEC, Security+ CE, GICSP, SSCP. or CCNA Security
  • Traceability of designs to requirements.
  • Proper identification and documentation of system elements, interfaces, and interdependencies
  • Timely and thorough vetting and disposition of change requests.
  • Control and documentation of approved changes to baselines.
  • Functional Baseline Management; Allocated Baseline Management; Product Baseline Management
  • Proper and timely incorporation of verified changes in all affected items and documentation.
  • Consistent and appropriate provisions in the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) and related contract actions.
  • Consistency between a product and its design requirements, supporting documentation and associated production and sustainment systems.
  • A complete audit trail of design decisions and modifications.
  • Continued assurance of system supportability and interoperability, consistent with the approved acquisition and life-cycle sustainment strategies.
  • On site team is in El Segundo/Los Angeles. Team is in the PST zone tied to necessary support.
  • Travel will be required, as needed.
  • Clearance: US Citizen with an Active DoW Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain the consistency, integrity and traceability of system components – hardware, software and documents – throughout their lifecycle.
  • Track, monitor and control updates and changes of all configuration items within the boundary of the platform to maintain and ensure a ‘source of truth’.
  • Create and maintain configuration baselines while ensuring all changes are documented and compliant with established policies.
  • Continuously run audits to assess and verify the accuracy and consistency of configuration items against the established baseline.
  • Enforce change management processes through the platform’s system change requests, application review requests and document application requests.
