About The Position

The Automotive Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing the parts department of an automotive dealership, ensuring efficient inventory management, high customer service quality, and effective team leadership. This role focuses on maximizing profitability through strategic purchasing, inventory control, and staff training, while maintaining a high fill rate for parts and supplies needed by shop and wholesale customers.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of automotive parts experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to calculate figures/amounts including discounts, interest, and commissions.
• Basic understanding of inventory and reporting.
• Some technical automotive knowledge.
• Ability to manage others.
• Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Participate in operations/departmental planning.
• Reconcile daily parts invoices.
• Track the daily gross sales of the parts department.
• Reconcile and report shortages and/or damage.
• Reconcile parts/warranty/return reports.
• Provide on-the-job training for parts department staff.
• Compile and analyze monthly management reports.
• Maintain tight control over parts inventory.
• Ensure the quality of customer service provided by the parts department.
• Coordinate parts marketing.
• Calculate and submit monthly obsolescence reports.
• Responsible for maximizing grosses and minimizing obsolescence.
