About The Position

The Conference and Events Producer will lead content design and implementation for high-impact conferences for the accounting & finance profession, including our flagship annual conference, women's leadership conference, and student leadership conference. This hands-on role requires sourcing and securing top-tier speakers through strategic networking within the industry, conducting comprehensive research on emerging topics and trends, and building meaningful connections throughout the professional community. The position involves coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to create exceptional conference experiences that deliver cutting-edge content and valuable networking opportunities. You will be responsible for all program and speaker-related tasks, from initial concept to final execution and post-event follow-up. This includes curating content, building a remarkable speaker lineup, managing all speaker logistics and communications, and delivering best-in-class experiences onsite. You will serve as a key member of a collaborative team, where every task, regardless of size, is essential to the success of our events. This is a remote based position.

Requirements

  • 5 + years of conference production and programming experience for events and conferences (not operations/logistics which is a different role).
  • 5 + years of experience with speaker acquisition.
  • Strong research and stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership team, c-level executives, and volunteer advisors.
  • Possesses excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Highly skilled in all forms of professional communication.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proactive in recognizing and analyzing new trends.
  • Experienced in multitasking and managing complex projects effectively.
  • Leadership qualities and self-motivated to drive event vision in line with company goal.
  • A reliable and flexible team player who thrives on contributing beyond defined responsibilities whenever there's a need.
  • Knowledge of accounting & finance markets is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit high-caliber speakers who are not only experts but also compelling storytellers, performers, and innovators.
  • Design and curate highly interactive conference sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities, thinking beyond traditional formats to include unique elements that will surprise and delight attendees.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to incorporate IMA key messaging and initiatives into the programming.
  • Engage with a volunteer program committee to discuss content ideas and speakers.
  • Partner with sponsor speakers to align audience needs while also delivering value to the sponsor.
  • Engage with speakers to refine their presentations and ensure they align with the conference's overall theme and objectives.
  • Review and edit all speaker materials (PowerPoints, Google Slides, video etc.) to ensure they are visually engaging, compelling, and professional.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to write compelling conference program copy, session descriptions, and update conference website.
  • Maintain the conference submission and review system.
  • Research industry trends, emerging topics, and professional development needs to scout fresh, forward-thinking content.
  • Cultivate relationships with key industry leaders and thought leaders who are known for innovative approaches and unique insights.
  • Develop partnerships with accounting firms, financial institutions, technology providers, and professional service organizations.
  • Analyze attendee data and feedback to identify unmet needs and uncover opportunities for unique, valuable experiences.
  • Collaborate with IMA Research department to leverage existing research insights.
  • Manage all communication and logistics with speakers, from initial outreach to post-event follow-up.
  • Coordinate speaker contracts, travel arrangements, and technical requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for speakers, ensuring a positive and seamless experience.
  • Coordinate speaker logistics, preparations, and content delivery requirements.
  • Add all speaker information to the event website.
  • Coordinate speakers onsite at the conference.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Conferences and Events to develop a comprehensive conference strategy that prioritizes unique and memorable attendee experiences.
  • Develop strategies to attract new attendees from various segments of the accounting and finance community.
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to support social media marketing and digital engagement strategies.
  • Work with the sales team to identify innovative sponsorships that enhance the attendee experience.
