About The Position

A Maritime Conference Meeting Aide – Set-Up Staff is responsible for the safety and comfort of our guests by ensuring detailed meeting space set up to guest specifications.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be able to understand and follow visual and oral instructions.
  • Must be punctual, attentive and able to multi-task.
  • General understanding of audio/visual equipment and use of technology.
  • Ability to work independently with little guidance or as a team.
  • Will work to the highest standards of hospitality and assure that all guest requests are dealt with in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Additional duties include assisting in other departments as needed.
  • Conference Aide must be able to meet shift schedules on time.
  • Ideal candidate will have own transportation to meet high volume business.
  • This is a full-time position (40 hours / week) requiring regular evening and weekend availability.

Nice To Haves

  • Hotel or conference center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up meeting rooms per the BEO (Banquet Event Order) or other instructions, including providing basic audio/visual assistance to guests.
  • Assist guests while on-site with their meeting needs. Contact appropriate management if necessary.
  • Maintain storage spaces in an orderly fashion.
  • Receive and deliver packages from the Package Room. Assist overnight and meeting guests with the shipping out of packages.
  • Monitor Conference HELP line and provide assistance as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
