About The Position

Herzog Transit Services, Inc. is currently looking for passenger Conductors in the Fort Worth, TX area. Duties and Responsibilities: This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position. Ensure compliance with applicable safety and operating rules and regulations. Shall perform all duties required in connection with the operation of commuter trains. Promote safe work practices as well as maintains and fosters a safe work environment. Duties include but are not limited to customer service, fare inspection, switching, and flagging. Notifies proper authorities and prepares reports to explain accidents, unscheduled stops or delays. Diagnose minor malfunctions and performs minor maintenance and servicing activities when maintenance personnel are not available. Comply with train orders, train signals, radio communications, and railroad rules and regulations to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the train. Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Exercising eye/hand coordination.
  • Must have an understanding of basic mathematics.
  • Applicants must be able to work holidays and non-traditional hours.
  • Must possess good communication skills (verbally and written)
  • Must be able to judge speed/distances of objects/moving parts.
  • Required to make logical choices and/or drawing logical conclusions.
  • Must become knowledgeable on rules, regulations, and/or policies for position.
  • Required to take actions and/or making decisions affecting security/well-being of others.
  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
  • Able to walk on uneven surfaces up to one-half mile.
  • Maintain balance for an extended period of time while train is in motion.
  • Must be able to be aware of surroundings and follow verbal commands while being exposed to moderately loud noises on a daily basis.
  • Work in a confined access/space environment with a width of 16 inches.
  • Must be able to adapt to various temperature extremes including but not limited to heat, cold, moisture and wind.
  • Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time.
  • Able to tolerate repetitive movements, squatting/bending, and overhead reaching.
  • Able to lift up to shoulder height and horizontally transfer up to 35 pounds for a distance up to 10 feet.
  • Regularly kneel, bend, squat for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly reach overhead.
  • Regularly grasp/squeeze equipment with a force up to 20 pounds.
  • Regularly ascend/descend a platform with a height of up to 36 inches from the floor.
  • Regularly ascend and descend an 8 step ladder while carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
  • Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
  • Able to work in a safety sensitive work environment.
