The Condition Monitoring Engineer provides subject matter expertise and direction for the Pattern operational fleet condition monitoring program. Specifically, this role requires detailed understanding and experience performing advanced vibration analysis of wind turbine components. The Condition Monitoring Engineer will be responsible for daily monitoring, collaborating sites to optimize remaining useful life of components and continuously improving the condition monitoring program capabilities.

  • Manage Pattern Operation's wind turbine vibration condition monitoring program.
  • Perform vibration analysis and develop necessary methods for the early detection of component failures and damages on wind turbine components.
  • Monitor system data flow health and resolve issues to ensure high system availability and performance.
  • Act as Pattern's subject matter expert for wind turbine condition based and predictive based maintenance.
  • Work cooperatively with other discipline engineering leaders in the group to ensure a holistic approach to wind turbines and solar reliability.
  • Provide technical support for the operations field teams with inspection guidance, turbine troubleshooting and operational status assessment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar Engineering degree is required as a minimum.
  • 1-5 years or more experience as a vibration condition monitoring engineer in wind industry.
  • Preferred experience utilizing fleet MONITOR condition monitoring software or required experience with other diagnostics software packages for wind turbine vibration data.
  • Experience with Siemens, GE, or other wind OEM hardware and software.
  • Must be able to climb modern wind turbine without a lift or climb assist.
  • Strong technical capabilities and a creative, curious, self-driven work ethic.
  • Ability to work well in and/or lead cross functional teams with little supervision or oversight.
  • Ability to travel (Up to 10% travel).
  • Familiarity with programming in Python, R, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Knowledge of SCADA data and principles of databases and historians, including experience with Structured Query Language.
  • Ability to turn detailed vibration assessment into comprehensible and actionable maintenance actions for the operations team.
  • Ability to quickly assess emergency situations and requirements to develop and implement appropriate action plans.
  • Ability to work around energized equipment under proper lock-out, tag-out, and other safety procedures.
  • Ability to occasionally perform physical requirements including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and climbing at project locations in order to inspect equipment or collect information.
