About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Technician to perform field and laboratory testing of ready-mix concrete. This role ensures our concrete products meet specifications, quality standards, and project requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a field setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in construction materials preferred.
• Working knowledge of ASTM and ACI concrete testing standards.
• Basic math proficiency and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret project blueprints and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording test data.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk uneven terrain, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Dependable attendance and professional communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site field tests for properties such as slump, temperature, and air content on freshly mixed concrete.
• Collect representative concrete samples according to ASTM and ACI standards.
• Cast and prepare test specimens (e.g., cylinders) for strength and durability testing.
• Verify that materials and construction practices meet project plans, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Maintain and calibrate all testing and sampling equipment.
• Accurately record and report test results to project managers and plant operators.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and plant personnel to ensure timely and accurate quality control activities.
