About The Position

The position involves working as a concrete finisher, responsible for various tasks related to the preparation, mixing, pouring, and finishing of concrete surfaces. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
  • Vocational training or apprenticeship in concrete finishing is advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience in concrete work is essential, often gained through on-the-job training or previous employment.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
  • Strong focus on quality workmanship and the ability to identify and correct imperfections in concrete surfaces.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools used in concrete finishing, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and align forms for concrete according to blueprints or plans.
  • Mix, pour, and spread concrete in specified proportions, ensuring it meets project specifications.
  • Use tools such as trowels, floats, and screeds to smooth and level freshly poured concrete surfaces.
  • Apply sealants and hardening compounds to protect and enhance the durability of concrete surfaces.
  • Monitor the curing process of concrete and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality finishes.
  • Work alongside other tradespeople, including engineers and electricians, to complete construction projects effectively.
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment used in the finishing process.
