About The Position

R-2 Contractors is currently seeking a driven and experienced Concrete Foundation Superintendent to lead foundation operations across our projects nationwide. This role is essential to ensure concrete work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of quality. We are looking for a leader who is hungry, humble, and smart—someone who leads by example, builds strong teams, and takes full ownership of project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a concrete laborer
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in foundation layout
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a concrete form-setter/finisher
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a concrete Foreman
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as a concrete Superintendent
  • Proven experience with flatwork, spread footing pedestals, foundations, and cast-in-place walls
  • Strong knowledge of concrete practices, placement, and finishing techniques
  • Hands-on experience operating concrete finishing equipment
  • Proven layout knowledge and ability to ensure accurate field execution
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate complex work scopes
  • Proven track record of building and developing teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to escalate issues when needed
  • Team-first mentality with a focus on collaboration and shared success
  • Self-driven, accountable, and willing to put in the effort required to get the job done
  • Willing and able to travel and work extended hours as needed
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all field operations related to concrete foundations and flatwork
  • Ensure health and safety is the top priority on every job site
  • Hold General Foremen and Foremen accountable for productivity, quality, and performance
  • Step in to ensure project success when challenges arise or when gaps occur in supervision
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work, trades, and resources at least 6 weeks in advance
  • Coordinate closely with General Contractors, clients, and project stakeholders
  • Oversee layout, forming, pouring, and finishing operations for foundations and flatwork
  • Monitor daily production and ensure work is completed on schedule and within scope
  • Read and interpret project drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution
  • Communicate proactively with leadership when issues or delays arise
  • Promote a strong team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and performance
  • Mentor and develop field personnel, building strong and capable crews
