About The Position

Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for ten highly motivated skilled workers to join our team as Concrete finishers Point & Patch Dry. The position involves building rough wooden structures such as concrete forms, following safety rules at all times, and finishing assigned tasks on time with high standards of quality. Candidates should have a good general knowledge of construction practices and be able to use and work in a manlift. Responsibilities also include constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood and plywood.

Requirements

• Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, including equipment operational and/or safety manuals.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
• Carpentry/form setting experience within the construction industry.
• Ability to finish concrete to grade and straight edged.
• Treat equipment with care and keep tools clean.
• Ability to read and understand rebar plans and be able to place rebar curtains and mats.
• Be able to work with metric, feet, and hundredths measurements.

Responsibilities

• Build rough wooden structures such as concrete forms.
• Follow safety rules at all times.
• Finish assigned tasks on time with high standards of quality.
• Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood and plywood.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Form slabs, columns, and walls for concrete pours.
• Ensure all parts of structures are plumb, square, and true.
• Quickly address issues with formworks, rebar, and potential weather conditions that may impact the concrete and possible safety hazards.
