About The Position
Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation: Set up and align forms for concrete according to blueprints or plans. Concrete Mixing and Pouring: Mix, pour, and spread concrete in specified proportions, ensuring it meets project specifications. Finishing Techniques: Use tools such as trowels, floats, and screeds to smooth and level freshly poured concrete surfaces. Application of Sealants: Apply sealants and hardening compounds to protect and enhance the durability of concrete surfaces. Monitoring and Adjustments: Monitor the curing process of concrete and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality finishes. Collaboration: Work alongside other tradespeople, including engineers and electricians, to complete construction projects effectively. Maintenance: Clean and maintain tools and equipment used in the finishing process.
Requirements
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Vocational training or apprenticeship in concrete finishing is advantageous.
- Experience: Hands-on experience in concrete work is essential, often gained through on-the-job training or previous employment.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality workmanship and the ability to identify and correct imperfections in concrete surfaces.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with hand and power tools used in concrete finishing. as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
