About The Position

Skillforce is seeking Concrete Finishers for ongoing projects near the Dulles International Airport. The ideal candidate will ensure that concrete surfaces are finished to the highest standards of quality and durability. This position involves preparing, pouring, leveling, and finishing concrete for a variety of construction projects including sidewalks, roads, foundations, and other structural elements. The Concrete Finisher must work efficiently with a team to meet project deadlines while maintaining safety and compliance with industry regulations. Pay: $30-$32 per hour, depending on experience. Schedule: This is a night shift from 9:30 pm to 6:00 am

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or in a similar manual labor role within construction.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and heavy equipment safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques and materials.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding manual labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate dump trucks or other construction vehicles as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in concrete finishing or related construction trades.
  • Experience with underground utility installation and trenching.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and construction site regulations.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set forms for concrete pouring, ensuring proper alignment and stability.
  • Operate hand tools and heavy equipment to mix, pour, spread, and level concrete.
  • Perform finishing techniques such as troweling, floating, and edging to achieve smooth and durable surfaces.
  • Conduct site preparation including excavation, trenching, and demolition as needed to facilitate concrete work.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and maintain safety standards on site.
  • Inspect finished work for defects or inconsistencies and make necessary corrections.
  • Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
