Job Description: Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks or curbs to specified textures. Must be willing to travel amongst several projects within the area and will be working in various weather conditions. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys working outdoors, and wants to be part of building and maintaining public infrastructure.

Requirements

Must be willing to travel amongst several projects within the area and will be working in various weather conditions.
Knowledge of slipform paving operations, CRCP, and concrete mix design.
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (assistance recommended for heavier loads).
Work extended hours on foot, including on uneven or rough surfaces.
Climb ladders, kneel, crawl, or work at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks or curbs to specified textures.
Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency.
Level, smooth and shape freshly poured concrete.
Monitor material quantities, production rates, and equipment performance.
Maintain accurate daily reports, paving logs, and quantity records.
Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and patch holes.
Mold expansion joints and edges.
Oversee setup, pouring, finishing, and curing of concrete pavement
Produce concrete surface.
Direct subgrade work, mixing of concrete and setting of forms.
Break up and repair old concrete surfaces.
Calculate amounts of concrete required for each job.
Picture objects from drawings and diagrams.
Compare and see differences in size, shape and form of lines, figures, and objects.
