Concrete Equipment Mechanic Apprentice
About The Position
We are seeking a motivated apprentice who wants to learn and grow into a skilled concrete equipment mechanic. This role supports the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of construction equipment used across multiple industries, including concrete pumps and related machinery. The ideal candidate is eager to learn mechanical repair, pays close attention to detail, and can follow troubleshooting steps to help keep equipment safe, reliable, and performing at its best. About Us PDQuipment serves cities all over the country for equipment needs related to material spraying. From tarps, parts, pumps, service and more, we will supply whatever is needed to get the job done. We have fireproofing pumps, concrete pumps, plaster pumps, and stucco pumps for sale along with all the parts to service them.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Mechanical interest or hands-on experience preferred (school, automotive, small engines, farm equipment, hobby projects, etc.).
- Willingness to learn diesel/hydraulic/electrical systems over time (no expert-level experience required).
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools (or eager to learn).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop/warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing construction equipment and related machinery (including concrete pumps).
- Help perform routine maintenance and preventive services (oil changes, inspections, cleaning, basic adjustments).
- Learn how to safely use tools, diagnostic equipment, and follow repair procedures.
- Support equipment setup, testing, and basic calibration for customers to ensure proper operation.
- Document work completed (notes, parts used, photos when needed) in the company system under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety and PPE guidelines.
- Ask questions, take feedback well, and steadily build skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting.
