About The Position

The Concrete Carpenter position at the City of Farmington involves performing routine street maintenance and concrete carpentry duties under the supervision of the Street Division Foreman. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience in a closely related construction field.
• Valid New Mexico Driver's License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
• Comprehensive knowledge of concrete finishing.
• Experience in carpentry.
• Ability to perform math calculations.
• Experience operating jack-hammers, power saws, drills, and related equipment.
• One year of work experience in a construction-related field involving the operation of trucks or light automotive equipment, or equivalent vocational training courses.

Nice To Haves

• Class B CDL preferred but not required.
• Willingness to be on 24-hour call.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine street maintenance and concrete carpentry duties.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials, and the public.
• Operate a motor vehicle for departmental tasks.
• Determine appropriate elevation, grades, and radii for form placement.
• Perform concrete finishing duties.
• Operate a variety of semi-skilled street construction equipment.
• Operate snow removal equipment.
• Assist in setting up and cleaning job sites, including traffic control devices.
• Clean weeds, trash, and debris from work sites.
