About The Position

Responsible for the preparation and serving of food items to the public, working on a cash register and maintaining a safe and sanitary concession stand.

Requirements

Must be 14 years old and in high school or older.
Ability to get along well with others, good communication skills, mature and positive attitude.
Attain Food Handlers Certificate valid for 3 years
Have thorough understanding of cash register operation

Nice To Haves

Certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 3 months of employment

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the park district’s policies and operations and enforce them in a positive manner
Responsible for arriving at work on or before scheduled time
Responsible for carrying out all rules and regulations of the State and Village Health Department and River Trails Park District
keep accurate records of spoiled food
Keep supervisor informed of any problems or concerns
Attend and participate in staff and training meetings
Responsible for inspections, appearance and upkeep of the concession stand (floor, counters, refrigerator, machines, etc.) and eating area
Give first aid if necessary or alert Pool Manager for serious injuries
Perform other duties and functions as assigned
Serve patrons in a quick and courteous manner
Must complete an on-line food handlers course every third year
Actively supports and enforces the safety program instituted by the Park District
Maintains a working knowledge of all general agency and department-specific safety rules
Attends required safety program and in-service education meetings as directed
Corrects unsafe conditions and/or reports them to your director supervisor
Enforces safety disciplinary policies and procedures
Uses protective gloves, masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to pathogens
Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the safety program of the River Trails Park District
