About The Position

Under the direction of the Food and Beverage Manager, this position serves to oversee concessions staff and operations for Conner Prairie’s festivals, programs and daily food service operations.

Requirements

  • Friendly/ outgoing personality, dependable/ strong work ethic and self-motivation are key traits needed for success in this position.
  • Clear and confident communication is required.
  • Candidates must be flexible and willing to work in various roles as needed to complete the job: for example: cook, cashier or dishwasher.
  • Flexible availability preferred. Weekday, weekend, evening, and holidays shifts are all available. Events may occur during early AM and late PM hours.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to work outdoors with inclement weather possibilities.
  • Ability to traverse uneven ground and be able to safely lift 50 pounds is required.
  • A minimum age of 18 years with food service and leadership experience.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading a team is desired.
  • Ability to safely drive a golf cart with trailer desired.
  • SafeServ Food Handlers Certificate desired, option to earn this certification will be offered once hired.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises food service operations at cafes and concession stands.
  • Oversees point of sale (P.O.S) system, verifies all cash/credit sales and end of day sales reports.
  • Supports event setup to include moving of concessions equipment, tables/ chairs, and product.
  • Supervises and trains employees and volunteers to operate the POS, perform culinary tasks and follow food safety standards.
  • Assists with managing stock, receiving and inventory control.
  • Possesses ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Must be willing to learn set-up, maintain, disassemble and clean equipment related to concession operations.
  • The ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment is essential to success in this role.
  • Supervises and assists in food preparation.
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and procedures beneficial to success in this role.
  • Must learn and maintain Health Department rules for food safety.
  • Leads Part-time and Part-Time Flex concessions staff during shift as assigned.
