About The Position

Concession Stand Attendants provide customer service to train passengers both aboard the train and at the concession trailer. Works in the Conductors’ Café, Depot Café, and Big Al’s food trailer providing customer service, food preparations, cash handling and stocking of items in each location.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Valid Driver's License preferred.
  • Must have good equilibrium, not affected by motion, and able to travel by train.
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must possess organizational skills with the ability to multi-task while prioritizing workload with a practical, flexible, and innovative approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities as part of a team.
  • Minimum knowledge of bartending if over 21.
  • Will attend RASP training.
  • Must be able to constantly improve and adapt to changes easily.
  • Must have a professional appearance with good personal hygiene.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Able to maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules to include weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
  • Knowledge of Square and wireless technology to process payment transactions.
  • Capacity for cash handling and daily reporting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Check with MOD for daily numbers and objectives.
  • Prepares Conductors’ Café car, Chessie car and/or Big Al’s for daily operations by ensuring cleanliness, proper setup, and supply levels.
  • Prepare daily food for the Concession’s Train Car and/or Big Al's.
  • Provides information about the posted menu, knowledge of food ingredients, layover information, box lunches, and safety information for passengers.
  • Engage customers by demonstrating strong customer service skills as part of the overall team.
  • Maintain a full, proper uniform throughout the entire shift.
  • Ensure all service is performed in a consistent professional manner following Food & Beverage Management guidelines.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary environment in compliance with all local and federal health codes.
  • Adhere to company service standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Assist in the depot café, prior to train departures, distributing boxed lunches and assisting guests.
  • Strive to accommodate guest wishes to the fullest extent feasible.
  • Other duties as requested.
