About The Position

As the University’s largest and most varied academic unit, the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) is comprised of artists, learners, performers, scholars, scientists, and teachers across 21+ departments, programs, schools, and centers and acts as a central hub where many of the University's disciplines intersect. Nearly all 6,000 undergraduates at the University take liberal arts courses with us, and about one-third of these students declare a first major in a CAHSS program. Most of our departments, programs and schools offer master's or doctoral programs. Position Summary Reporting directly to the Manager of Marketing and Communications of the Lamont School of Music, the Concert Program and Recital Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating Lamont’s concert program production and student recital scheduling. This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1000 hours in a calendar year. This posting is for a pre-identified candidate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in music or a related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe InDesign (or comparable desktop publishing software)
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with file management for print production
  • General knowledge of music
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Able to multi-task, take initiative, and solve problems
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Broad computer skills that include word processing, spreadsheet, and publishing applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of experience in arts administration, higher education, or a related field
  • Supervisory experience, particularly working with student employees

Responsibilities

  • Design, generate, and oversee all printed/digital programs for concerts and events (approx. 300 per year) and archive these files per music licensing requirements
  • Schedule all student recitals (100-125) and dress rehearsals
  • Hire, train, supervise, and schedule a student staff of four
