About The Position

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a COMSEC Custodian to manage and safeguard cryptographic materials and systems supporting U.S. Government and partner operations. This role is responsible for ensuring strict compliance with COMSEC policies and procedures, conducting technical and releasability reviews, resolving cryptonet management issues, and supporting the provisioning and sustainment of cryptologic capabilities. The COMSEC Custodian will lead critical technical efforts and execute high‑impact assignments to ensure secure, interoperable communications across supported environments.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of experience as a Logistician, including a minimum of two (2) years of direct COMSEC experience supporting government operations.
  • Proven expertise in government property accountability and accounting processes, automated inventory control systems, and full‑spectrum logistics activities including shipping, receiving, packaging, and disposition of excess property.
  • Hands‑on experience processing government logistics documentation, including Government Bills of Lading (GBL) and DD Form 1149.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain COMSEC inventory, accountability, and reporting in accordance with established policies, including management of KMI and DIAS systems.
  • Program, distribute, control, and manage COMSEC devices and keying material using KMI, SKL, and related systems.
  • Develop, update, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) governing COMSEC operations, including proper storage, security, and readiness of equipment.
  • Ensure operational readiness by managing spare COMSEC equipment, supporting emergency circuit establishment, and coordinating the replacement of faulty or compromised assets.
  • Conduct technical and releasability reviews, resolve cryptonet management issues, and provide COMSEC subject matter expertise to enable secure interoperability.
  • Manage the lifecycle of COMSEC equipment, including coordination of repair, return, tracking (e.g., FMS logistics and MDATs), and proper destruction of obsolete or excess material.
  • Support Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and partner operations by coordinating logistics, advising on transportation plans, assisting case managers, and serving as an alternate COMSEC Custodian as required.
