About The Position

Computing Architect (Computing Architect-General) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing is looking for a Mid-Level Information Technology (IT) Architect to join our IT architecture team supporting enterprise IT solutions across cloud, network, security, and application domains. The Mid-Level IT Architect will assist in designing, documenting, and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective IT architectures that support business objectives and comply with Boeing policies and regulatory requirements. Prefer candidates to be in St Louis, MO area but will consider candidates in Seal Beach, CA or Seattle or Renton, WA areas. Candidates must live in the area or willing to relocate at their own expense. Key responsibilities Support senior IT architects in developing and documenting target-state enterprise, solution, and domain architectures (cloud, network, security, identity, applications, data). Translate business and technical requirements into architecture patterns, design decisions, and implementation roadmaps. Assist with solution assessments, trade studies, feasibility analysis, and cost/benefit evaluations. Create and maintain architecture artifacts, including diagrams, interface definitions, standards, and configuration baselines. Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity, and operations to validate designs and support integration. Participate in architecture and design reviews, governance boards, and change control processes. Help define deployment and migration plans, and support implementation oversight and validation activities. Contribute to automation, infrastructure-as-code patterns, and repeatable design templates. Keep architecture documentation and models current, and assist in maintaining architecture repositories and CM practices.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience in IT architecture, solution architecture, systems engineering, or related roles.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture concepts
  • Basic understanding of architecture frameworks or models (TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with architecture modeling and documentation tools (Visio, ArchiMate, Enterprise Architect, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams.
  • Eligibility to work in the job location and meet any export control or program security requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry or internship experience in IT architecture, solution architecture, systems engineering, or related roles.
  • Experience with one or more cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native patterns.
  • Knowledge of network architecture, identity/access management (IAM), zero trust, and cybersecurity controls.
  • Familiarity with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools and practices (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
  • Understanding of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, and microservices architectures.
  • Experience with data architecture fundamentals and data governance.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure Architect, CISSP, TOGAF) or pursuit of certification.
  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or large regulated enterprises.
