About The Position

Under general supervision, responsible for operating multi-slice computerized tomography scanners to obtain cross sectional images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Requirements

• Follows scanning protocols.
• Must have Advanced experience in post processing of 3D imaging.
• Must be current with the functionality of CT scanners and must have strong IV skills.
• Knowledgeable in the operation of the power injector and contrast administration/usage, as well as all peripheral hardware, including the console, monitoring equipment, and any and all devices used in CT.
• Ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives and choose an appropriate course of actions.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• BLS Basic Life Support Required.
• AART American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R) (CT) - Required.
• MRT Medical Radiologic Technologist - Required.

Responsibilities

• Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas in accordance with established standards. practices and procedures; accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions.
• Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.
• Performs all ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, obstetric and gynecological. scans, radiation therapy localization for treatment planning and minor surgical procedures.
• Performs quality assurance on CT scanning equipment according to ACR QA requirements.
• Properly uses the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and communication system (PACS).
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
