About The Position

The Computer Technician will be responsible for providing computer diagnostics and repairs on tablets, laptops, desktops, and all-in-one devices. This role involves troubleshooting both hardware and software issues, manually examining and repairing computer hardware and peripheral components, and re-assembling computer parts. The technician will analyze failed equipment according to established methods to determine repairability, resolve hardware technical issues within a set time schedule, and provide break-and-fix solutions using in-house systems. They may also be required to manually set up computer systems and hardware, and install or re-install software programs for computer users. The position requires meeting daily Units per Hour metrics, maintaining a positive and communicative work environment, and keeping the warehouse organized and clean. Additionally, the technician is responsible for fostering a healthy and safe work environment for all associates.

Requirements

  • Working towards completing A+ certification.
  • Still attending tech school.
  • Solid 2 to 3 years of repair experience.
  • Worked in low production PC type environment.
  • Experienced in 1-2 OEMs.
  • Knowledge of simple or repetitive component replacement such as LCD/HDD for multiple commodities.
  • Working knowledge of different models such as Dell, HP, Toshiba, Apple, and Acer products.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power-point, etc.
  • Ability to clearly organize and categorize work priorities to complete your work.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and follow written instructions and ideas.
  • Repeated and coordinated use of hands, wrists, and fingers to use a computer keyboard, and other small handheld tools.
  • Must be hands-on and have ambition with the drive to succeed - Makes things happen.
  • Goal oriented and must be accustomed to achieving results through team-work.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to reach daily KPI/Hour metrics - Minimum KPI Standards of 1.25- 1.8 (able to meet within 90 days of employment).

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair laptops.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose computer systems both hardware and software.
  • Manually examine and repair computer hardware and peripheral components.
  • Take apart and re-assemble computer components and parts.
  • Analyze failed equipment according to established methods or procedures and determine whether equipment is repairable.
  • Resolve hardware technical issues within time schedule and provide the break and fix solution using in-house system.
  • Manually set up computer systems and hardware, and install or re-install software programs for computer users (as needed).
  • Reach daily Units p/Hour metrics - Minimum KPI Standards of 1.49 or above (able to meet within 90 days of employment).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
