About The Position

The incumbent in this class is responsible for the installation, repair and operation of micro-computers and peripheral equipment, such as terminals, printers, and software. The work includes keeping abreast of the latest technological developments in the industry. While the ability to exercise independent judgment is a requirement, general supervision is received from the Technology. Does related work as required.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of remote management software such as Azure Active Directory. Intune. Absolute Resilience/Control, JAMF Pro
  • Must be a working knowledge of Office Automation/Decision Support systems pertaining to microcomputers and their components
  • A working knowledge of business practices, systems and equipment
  • Ability to interpret technical literature about changes in techniques and equipment
  • Ability to prepares reports both orally and in writing
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally
  • Tact and courtesy

  • Good judgment
  • Ability to work independently and physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position
  • Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma recognized by the New York State Education Department; PLUS 3 years of experience working with remote management software or security systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and participates in the installation and of micro-computers and peripheral equipment, such as terminals, printers and software
  • Distributes and maintains the inventory of computer supplies including outreach to end users
  • Provides technical training
  • Implement. effectively operate and monitor mobile and remote device management solutions including Azure Active Directory, Intune. Absolute Resilience/Control, JAMF Pro and others
  • Supports and Maintains IT components of hardware and software security systems
  • Provides technical support services for all computer and telecommunications operations, including installing hardware and software, assisting in installation, and troubleshooting software. hardware, cabling, and networking
  • Resolves assigned workorder technical support tickets in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Attends workshops on application of information technology and provides staff development
  • Assists administrators and staff developers with the technical preparation of workshops, Meetings and presentations
  • Provides assistance to projects related to information technology
