About The Position

Activities related to college teaching and learning in the Computer Systems Networking field, including but not limited to the duties listed below: Instructional planning, teaching, learning, and evaluating students in the classroom. Assessment of student performance. Student recruitment, retention, and advising. Lab/classroom climate maintenance. Maintenance of professional skills and credentials. Maintain and enhance curriculum and assess program outcomes. Participation in department meetings, coordination activities, curriculum development, and college-wide committees.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a computer or information technology field.
  • Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in networking, network administration, cybersecurity, or forensics.
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

  • Experience using Active Directory design and implementation; configuration; and troubleshooting DNS, DHCP, server roles, security, and certificates; Group Policy; network OS configuration; and administration, as well as familiarity with networking technologies.
  • Expertise in computer/hardware repair and troubleshooting, client system administration, and Command Line and Powershell Administration.
  • Proficiency in Client OS and Office 365
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively teach and explain operating system concepts, along with practical application, such as creating documents and folders, browsing the web, managing email, and utilizing help resources.
  • Proficiency in summarizing IT concepts, defining IT infrastructure, and discussing IT career paths is essential, including IT support tiers, applications, hardware, software development, database fundamentals, programming, and IT security principles.
  • Proficiency in project management terminology, managing project life cycles, troubleshooting constraints, risk management strategies, communication practices, project resource and stakeholder management, utilization of project management tools, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with and commitment to the mission and constituencies of a comprehensive community and technical college.
  • Dedication to teaching and student learning providing quality education emphasizing college level standards.
  • Commitment to studying, analyzing, and implementing learning strategies that will help students reach their education goals.
  • Experience using teaching techniques that support diverse learning styles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of instructional technology, including Interactive Television and online course delivery.
