About The Position

The National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC) Division of the Leidos Fed Civ IT Business Area currently has an opening for a Computer Systems Architect V. This position will be part of a dynamic team working to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Oklahoma City at their Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center location. The Computer Systems Architect will provide support the operations support and engineering services to the En Route Surveillance Team, Long Range Radar in the radar systems and their associated computer systems at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC). Primary Responsibilities Understand the technical requirements of the En Route Surveillance Team and the associated radar systems and provide system engineering direction to the program manager. Assist with the system engineering plan, including evaluating alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Responsible for technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding. Interact with system users, customers, managers, engineers, programmers, analysts, logisticians, technicians, and trainers to ensure communication of issues, activities, and solutions. Conduct mission analyses, functional analyses, performance analyses, and requirements analyses. Define candidate system architectures. Define and control internal and external interfaces and interconnectivity. Conduct system analysis and modeling. Evaluate alternatives including costs and risks, supportability and analyses for total systems. Manage and integrate specialty disciplines (i.e. Interoperability, reliability, producibility, environmental specifications, system safety, logistics). Monitor hardware and software development, integration, and test. Perform systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Applicants are required to have detailed knowledge of the FAA NAS and specialized experience with facilities, surveillance, and navigation aids commonly used throughout the FAA NAS.
  • Typically requires BS degree and 12 - 15 years of prior relevant experience or master's with 10 - 13 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
