ECS is seeking a qualified Computer Systems Analyst (Junior) to support transformative science and technology solutions for the Department of Energy in our Morgantown, WV office. This position is contingent upon contract award. The candidate will provide end-user support with processes for managing and delivering IT services, resolving incidents, service requests, and problems associated with service failures or degradations related to hardware and software computing devices. The role involves installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and modifying applications, operating systems, and any required third-party products to ensure interoperability, including Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software and software under development by in-house teams, to meet the needs of application owners. The Computer Systems Analyst will maintain the applications server environment, working to identify and troubleshoot issues via root cause analysis and provide thorough technical documentation for required corrective action resolutions. Proactive monitoring and remediation of application server infrastructure issues are essential. The analyst will create, review, and maintain advanced technical support documentation for supported software applications and their environments, regularly providing input and status updates for project tracking activities. The role also includes serving as the technical point of contact for vendor support on all application-related issues and evaluating vendor products as needed. In addition, the analyst will lead system and process analysis efforts to provide innovative solutions for highly complex customer problems. This includes designing and developing advanced technical solutions, working directly with the Applications teams to recommend solutions and strategies for configuration, testing, and integration of new technologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness of applications and/or server management. The position requires extensive experience working independently to plan and schedule workload, establish priorities, and collaborate with high-level technical personnel. The analyst will also analyze information requirements, evaluate problems of workflow, organization, and planning, and assist senior analysts in developing appropriate corrective actions. Daily activities include helping develop plans for automated information systems from project inception to conclusion, defining problems, and developing system requirements and program specifications.
