About The Position

The Florida PALM Project (the Project) is an enterprise project to replace the State of Florida’s legacy accounting, payroll and cash management systems, using an enterprise resource planning solution. The Department of Financial Services (DFS) is leading this statewide initiative, which impacts stakeholders and users of the State’s financial data including all State agencies. Requirements

  • Four (4) years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Three (3) years of experience in auditing, disbursements, accounting, and/or financial reporting for accounting systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of experience in State of Florida accounts payable.
  • Experience working in team environments as a leader or as a member.
  • Experience performing business analysis functions, including working with subject matter experts, business users, or stakeholders.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, data analysis, design, development, testing and/or implementation of financial management system(s).
  • Experience supporting system testing, UAT, or process improvement initiatives in an ERP environment.
  • Knowledge of the Florida PALM Project.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of the Department of Financial Services’ responsibilities for the Florida PALM Project.
  • Serve as a state subject matter expert and exercise discretion and independent judgement with respect to procurement, accounts payable, accounting and management.
  • Work with supervisor and leadership to establish priorities and due dates for work assignments.
  • Communicate concerns and executive contact immediately to your supervisor and/or project director.
  • Manage all deadlines in an organized manner to ensure timely completion of fully developed work products.
  • Prepare presentation materials and lead meetings with state agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Present at executive steering committee meetings and or advisory council meetings as requested.
  • Review and provide input on current and proposed state and federal statutes and rules, and regulation changes to determine impact to Project requirements.
  • Work with the financial management solution software implementation vendor to ensure adherence to State standards.
  • Consult with subject matter experts, business users, and stakeholders of the financial management solution.

Benefits

  • Salary range: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00
