POSITION OVERVIEW The Computer System Analyst III (Audio Visual Systems Engineer) provides advanced technical leadership and oversight for the design, sustainment, and operation of Audio, Visual, Lighting, and Videoconferencing (AVL‑VC) systems across the United States Army Fires Center of Excellence (USAFCoE). This role is responsible for supporting approximately 425 classrooms, conference rooms, and auditoriums by ensuring all AVL‑VC equipment performs as designed, conducting maintenance, resolving system issues, and developing sustainment and enhancement plans. The engineer participates in planning for major events, provides on‑site operational support, configures and maintains a variety of AV control and signal processing technologies, and delivers user training across the installation. Duties include performing needs assessments, developing system designs and cost estimates, supporting contracting processes, and maintaining detailed logs and reporting through approved ticketing systems. The position also requires sustaining senior leadership AVL‑VC systems with strict repair timelines and coordinating closely with technical support personnel to maintain full operational capability. Candidates must possess extensive experience with AVL‑VC system design and operations, hold a current CTS certification, maintain a Secret Clearance, and meet the physical requirements necessary to work with complex AV systems in varied environments.

Requirements

  • Has at a minimum 10+ years of experience with the design, development, implementation, installation, operations and sustainment of AVL-VC systems for large and small facilities.
  • Will be required to acquire and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Possess a current InfoComm International - Certified Technology Specialist-General Certification (CTS).
  • 10+ years of verifiable Digital Sound Processor (DSP), Digital Projection and Digital display, Control Systems Equipment Installation and Operations experience (from resume).
  • Must have the physical ability to walk, stand, kneel, squat, bend, lift and push while performing various job tasks.
  • Must be physically able and comfortable working at heights (catwalks, lifts, etc.), in dimly lit venues, and around restricted/tight spaces when necessary. Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds).
  • Excellent visual acuity and hearing required.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural plans and schematic line drawings.

  • BA/BS in a technology related field desired but is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duty as Audio Visual Systems Engineer. Ensures COR is informed of any concerns or issues with Audio, Visual, Lighting and Videoconferencing (AVL-VC) systems that are not able to perform as designed within four (4) hours.
  • Audio Visual Systems Engineer will always cover down on Audio Visual Specialist duties as required based on Government needs.
  • Provide AVL-VC support for around 425 classrooms, conference rooms and auditoriums to ensure all equipment is operational and required maintenance is being performed. Each classroom has standard designs with projection, displays, sound, lighting and control systems. Approximately 10 rooms post wide have Videoconferencing equipment that will require additional sustainment.
  • Develop plan for post wide AVL-VC systems sustainment, operations, and enhancements to include conceptual design and cost estimates.
  • Participate in planning meetings for large special events to determine user AVL-VC requirements. Requirements will be used to develop event support plans for COR review.
  • For major events, contractor will remain in the facility to operate and/or provide guidance to other operators to ensure all AVL-VC systems perform as designed.
  • Configure AV systems and equipment such as Crestron, AMX, Extron, Biamp, matrix mixers and switchers.
  • Provide user training on the correct operations and maintenance of AVL-VC systems.
  • Troubleshoot wired or wireless data networks to support AVL-VC systems. Develop problem statements that will be provided to network support staff for resolution as required.
  • Perform Needs Assessment Analysis and site surveys for technology systems with organizations post wide. Create conceptual design and cost estimates from initial needs assessment analysis. Work with G6 to provide technical information so that a Request for Quote can be created for required technology system. Provide technical support to engage Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) and assist with oversight of technology systems projects or upgrades to existing systems.
  • The Analyst will keep a daily log of all work performed, create SharePoint tickets for each classroom issue reported, and create FCP tickets and AESMP tickets as needed to resolve issues reported.
  • Provide COR monthly reports of work completed or work pending completion. Reports will be provided on the first normal duty day of each month. The Analyst will propose work log format for COR review and approval within 30 calendar days of task order award.
  • Sustain and operate Senior Leadership AVL-VC systems to perform as designed at all times. Repair within 5 working days of notification or obtain COR approved delay of repair pending additional guidance. Current Senior Leadership systems are Commander's Conference Room in Bldg. 455, Regimental Conference Room in Bldg. 455, Reimer Conference Center in Bldg. 730 and Kerwin Auditorium in Bldg. 730. COR will update the Senior Leadership VTC systems and inform the contractor when systems are added or removed.
  • Sustain non-Senior Leadership AVL-VC systems to perform as designed. Repair within 10 calendar days of notification or obtain COR-approved delay of repair pending additional guidance. Currently, there are around 425 classrooms or staff offices that have some type of AVL-VC equipment.
