The Computer Support Technician (ISS I Option C) position at the Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) is designed for individuals with strong technical and customer service skills. The role involves imaging computers, preparing equipment for deployment, and assisting in the configuration, testing, installation, documentation, and maintenance of desktop and laptop systems. The technician will also support end users and participate in training sessions, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of IT services within the state.

  • Assist in providing professional support and assistance to end users in the End User Computing section.
  • Monitor EUC deployment schedule for impending device imaging demand.
  • Assist with transfers of equipment from DoIT warehouse to staging operations area for imaging.
  • Participate in multi-device/personal computer installations or relocations with senior technicians.
  • Stay current on new developments in the information technology field through continued education and training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Completion of two (2) years of college with coursework in computer science or directly related fields, or satisfactory completion of an agency-sponsored training program.
  • Elementary knowledge of supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows or Mac operating systems.
  • Elementary knowledge of Automated Software Deployment tools such as Microsoft Windows/Microsoft Installer scripts, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or LiteTouch.
  • Elementary knowledge in constructing and maintaining a network and devices within a business infrastructure environment.
  • Elementary knowledge of Microsoft Office client software products.
  • Knowledge of drive sanitation processes for preparing equipment for surplus.
  • Experience in validating equipment received and sorting equipment according to customer order priorities.
